Frequently Asked Questions...

"WHATS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING A MASSAGE?"

There's a vast selection as to why someone would benefit from receiving a massage. Below are a few listed:

  • Reduction in stress

  • Relaxing muscles, melting tension

  • Lowering heart rate and blood pressure

  • Improving immune function

  • Reducing pain and muscle soreness

"WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPORTS MASSAGE AND RELAXATION MASSSAGE"

Sports massage therapists specialize in treating and preventing sports injuries, while relaxation massage therapists focus on providing stress relief and overall relaxation. Sports massage therapists use deep tissue, trigger point, and other techniques to target specific areas of the body, while relaxation massage therapists use light to moderate pressure to help their clients relax. Sports massage therapists may also provide advice on proper stretching and strengthening exercises to help prevent injury, while relaxation massage therapists focus on providing a calming environment through the use of soothing music, aromatherapy, and calming massage strokes. Sports massage therapists may also provide advice on nutrition, while relaxation massage therapists focus on providing a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Sports massage therapists may use a variety of tools including foam rollers and massage balls to help relieve tight muscles, while relaxation massage therapists use more of a gentle and soothing approach.

"WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPORTS MASSAGE AND DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE?"

Sports massage and deep tissue massage are two different types of massage therapy. Sports massage is designed to treat sports-related injuries and conditions, while deep tissue massage focuses on addressing deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Sports massage is typically shorter and more focused on warming up and stretching the muscles, while deep tissue massage takes longer and works on knots and areas of tension that may have been caused by overuse. Both types of massage provide relaxation and stress relief, but sports massage is often used to improve athletic performance, while deep tissue massage is used to treat chronic pain and muscle tension.

"WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IN A MASSAGE?"

While we set up in the area of your choosing (floor cover is provided in to avoid damage to flooring/ carpets/ rugs etc.) this will allow you time to undress. The massage therapist will then direct you in the position needed on the massage couch and begin the treatment. At the end of the treatment, we will clear up and place any furniture moved back to its original location.

"WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?"

Usual home lounge attire is fine. While we set up in the area of your choosing this gives you time to undress to your comfortable amount of clothing. We recommend to undress to your underwear as we will be applying oils, lotions etc to your skin.
We provide a towel robe so you will be covered entering and exiting the room and when laying on the massage bed we use our sheets.

"WHERE WILL I RECIEVE MY TREATMENT?"

We Arrive 10/15 minutes prior to your appointment start time to ensure we set our equipment up, so you receive the full length of your treatment.
